About the Client

NSW Roads and Maritime deliver various services to the NSW boating public covering all waterways across NSW. Their role includes boating registration and licensing as well compliance monitoring and safety education.

Client’s challenge

Boating Safety Officers across the state were about to get a brand new digital app that would significantly enhance their ability to carry out their role. The client’s challenge was to showcase the new app to their users and in the process, convince them how it would be a major improvement on the previous iteration, which was no longer meeting their needs.

Our Solution

After meeting with the client, understanding the app and its functions, and exploring the key communication requirements, Magpie recommended a two-prong approach. The first was to deliver a short animated video, followed by a second live action promotional video, launched just before the app is rolled out to all users.

The Result

The client was delivered a high quality video that sold the benefits of the app in just 55 seconds. They were very happy with the result and are looking forward to creating the second video prior to the launch in early 2018.
